Personal project, 2023
Grow To, Grow From (2023) is a project made in Kabelvåg, Lofoten, originally presented as a handmade book, which combines photography and scribbles by the students in the village.
A seed is an undeveloped plant-embryo. It's control over life and growth is limited, and the seed is dependent on landing somewhere favourable for spring and growth. Anechoic seeds, seeds that travel with wind, can fly for hundreds of miles before settling down. Their only goal is to take root.
But almost none of the youth coming to Kabelvåg decide to stay.
This project aims to explore how we relate to places, and how we leave them. If we ever really do.
