Braids and Bows (2024) is a multi-media photo series that explores how gender politics manifests itself in a private school in Kathmandu, Nepal. I have photographed the students everyday life, and invited them to draw on photos of themselves. The result explores how they see each other, themselves, and the world. The world they learn about at school, the one they will grow up in. How do they exist in that world?
The project is a part of the collaborative book, It’s In Our Nature, has been showcased as two different exhibitions, and has been printed in the magazine Magasinet Fotografi.
